The New Legacy Girl
After 1994, Legacy Man was dropped, and Carolyn Fletcher returned to her rightful place as Legacy Girl. (Hip hip hooray!) Cover Comix still wasn't totally on board with all of her previous progressiveness, but luckily, the writer that took on the new Legacy Girl run - Marjorie Brown - had been a Legacy Girl fangirl since she was young. It was serendipitous that she'd get assigned to create the Legacy Girl of the modern era!
Mary Flint - Legacy Lass - reappears in this era, though without the superpowers she had before. Her first (comic) re-debut is in Legacy Girl #13, released in 2018. (Mary also showed up in spin-off graphic novel series Legacy Adventures!)
Mary is a high schooler who follows Legacy Girl around, trying to get recordings of her fights. She frequently finds herself in danger, but is able to get herself out of trouble just as much as Legacy Girl has to rescue her. In her new first issue, Mary sneaks off during a field trip to bring Legacy Girl information that she'd been looking for (without Legacy Girl's knowledge).
Legacy Girl has always had a rotating cast of love interests. The ONE thing I'll say that was good about the Dark Age is that they carried over Legacy Man's love interest, Samantha "Sam" Wells, to the Modern Age. Yes, Legacy Girl is canonically bisexual! This was awesome news to Cover Comix fans, as only a few other heroes have been confirmed queer at this point in time (Flute being a lesbian and the new Fox Sparrow being non-binary).
